Domestic violence charge ends in death
Authorities say a man who was killed after crashing a small plane into a Utah house appears to have intentionally flown into his own home just hours after being arrested on suspicion of assaulting his wife. It is not clear whether he had retained a domestic violence lawyer or not.
Police in the city of Payson, south of Salt Lake City, say Duane Youd’s wife was in the home when the plane hit early Monday but survived.
Sgt. Noemi Sandoval says Youd was arrested Sunday night after witnesses reported seeing him assault his wife in a canyon where they had been drinking. Youd posted bail.
Sandoval says Youd flew a plane that investigators believe belongs to his employer directly into the house about 2:30 a.m. Monday.
The front of the house was engulfed in flames, but his wife and a child got out. Sandoval says it’s unknown if the child is related to Youd.

Experienced domestic violence lawyer beats experienced pilot for matters like this
Youd was an experienced pilot who had access to the twin engine Cessna 525. He flew for the company that owned it, authorities said. He was the only one in the aircraft when it crashed and killed him.
Video taken by a neighbor showed flames coming out of the house and people watching from a distance. The neighbor said his mother heard the plane pass by twice before hearing the crash.
In another video taken after the crash, the engines of the jet can be heard continuing to whine and actually seemed to be revving up, even as the house goes up in flames.
The crash was the third incident with Youd that required authorities within a 12-hour period.
Youd was arrested at 7:30 p.m., the night before, for assaulting his wife and was released on bail, police said.
Hours later, at 12:30 a.m., Youd called and asked a patrol officer be present at his house to “keep the peace” as he picked up belongings and his truck, officials said. There was no argument during this incident.
The plane crash took place just two hours later.
Domestic Violence lawyers can help
Youd had also been arrested for domestic violence at the house in a previous incident within the past year. If only he and his wife had worked things out and gotten either good counseling or a good divorce lawyer. Sometimes relationships get very contentious. It’s better for both parties to look at settling things rather than letting pressure build to the boiling point.
We don’t know whether Youd was convicted of Domestic violence before. Youd was accused in the latest incident. If he had retained and listened to a good Domestic violence lawyer things would have been better. There is no mention whether he had a domestic violence lawyer or not.
