Do not consent to searches

The police have a duty to perform.  They are charged with enforcing the law.  They also have real world pressure from their boss to “make arrests”.   Be assured that when the police pull you over they may be looking for more than just a speeding ticket.

It is very common for departments to teach their officers how to pry into your privacy in order to find infraction you have knowingly or unknowingly committed.  It is your job not to help them.

 

That being said, it is also not advisable to be impolite or aggressive towards and officer.  They do have certain powers and are ready to use all the tools at their disposal to get an arrest.

Remember that agreeing to let them search your car may end up with you in handcuffs.  Be polite but firm that you do not consent to any search.
